Lemongrass essential oil is a pungent and strong oil that is highly concentrated. It is best to start using in very small quantities and add more if you need it. When using in cooking, you will only need a toothpick’s worth.

Thanks to many of the natural compounds within the essential oil, it can provide antibacterial, anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant benefits and can be used as a cleanser and detoxifier both physically and materialistically.

Tips for use:

Add 2-3 drops to filtered water, and use as a natural bug spray or diffuse on your patio to keep mosquitos and bugs at bay.

Include alongside Lemon or On Guard in your surface cleanser.

Apply diluted after a tough workout to support muscular cell recovery.

Add to your washing machine cycle or washing solution as a rinse aid.

Add a drop to your daily moisturiser for added glow.

This reassuring blend was created to help you find contentment and calm amidst the unexpected turns of everyday life.

It creates a comforting aroma perfect for meditation and yoga practices, and compliments affirmations of peace and reassurance.

Peace begins with you – and a few drops of doTERRA Peace Reassuring Blend.

Tips for use:

Diffuse to fill the room with a calming, peaceful aroma and promote a calming environment.

Inhale before a test or presentation to subdue feelings of anxiety.

Place on the bottoms of your feet in the morning to promote feelings of reassurance during the day.

Apply a few drops to your child’s favourite teddy bear to help calm them.

Inhale direct from cupped hands when feeling overwhelmed.

Healthy Winter recipe

Winter vegetable and lentil stew

When it’s cold outside, treat yourself to a healthy homemade vegetable soup, packed with immunity-supporting vitamin C and four of your 5-a-day. Pair with either some rustic bread or Irish soda bread.

Many people cringe when you mention lentils – but give this a go. You may be surprised! This is one of my winter favourites – courtesy of BBC Good Food – quick, simple and delicious!

85g dried red lentils

2 diced carrots

3 celery sticks

2 small leeks

2 tablespoons tomato puree

1 tablespoon fresh thyme

3 large garlic cloves – chopped

1 vegetable stock cube / 1 tablespoon of vegetable stock powder.

1 teaspoon coriander

Place all ingredients into a large pan. Add 1.5 litres of boiling water and stir well. Bring to the simmer, cover and leave to simmer for 30 minutes. Serve and enjoy!

CAUTIONS: Possible skin sensitivity. Keep out of reach of children. Consult your doctor if pregnant or in treatment. Avoid eyes, inner ears, and sensitive areas.
