What is Hopi Ear Candling?

Using 100% natural ingredients, Hopi ear candling is an ancient non-invasive treatment that involves placing a hollow ‘candle’ made of cotton, soaked in beeswax into the ear canal.
Once lit, the candle creates a chimney effect that can draw out impurities, soften debris and equalise pressure.

The warm air from the candle comes into contact with the colder air in the ear drum which creates a vacuum effect. It is this warmth and vacuum that provides the relief and benefits.

It was considered to be initially used by the Greeks for purifying and cleansing along with spiritual healing, and then later for physical purposes. It was spread to the modern world by the Native American Hopi Indian Tribe – hence the name. Hopi Tribe means ‘Peaceful People’.

Laying on your side, the candle is lit and then placed about a quarter of an inch into the ear. Due to the structure of the ear, the candle cannot be placed too deeply.

The candle takes about 10-15 minutes to burn and then the procedure is repeated for the other ear.

The treatment is extremely relaxing and it is not unusual for some clients to fall asleep.

Following the treatment within both ears, you will be treated to a soothing facial massage to finish off your session.
